Creative Kilmarnock designer's jewellery on sale in hospital

A HOSPITAL worker is adding a little sparkle to patients’ lives with jewellery.

Jackie Dalziel’s jewellery range called ‘Blinging Marvellous’ is being sold in Crosshouse and Ayr hospitals.

The bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings and handbags are selling fast from the shops – run by volunteers in aid of the hospitals.

Jackie, of Kilmarnock, said: “All the profits made from the volunteer shops is donated straight back into the hospital.

“It is a good feeling knowing that the profit from those jewellery sales is going to help to buy new beds and lifesaving machinery for the hospital.”

Mum-of-two Jackie, along with friend Susan Sym from Prestwick, started the jewellery business in April this year. They both work in NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s human resources department.

Susan makes jewellery including one of their bestselling range – the Dolly Allsorts bracelets, necklaces and earrings. The colourful pieces are made up of a pick and mix selection of Liquorice Allsort and Dolly Mixture beads. It is Susan’s son Aaron, 14, who helps come up with some of the designs for the jewellery.

Jackie, 34, said: “We want to offer something fun.

“We also have some bling for those who prefer a little sparkle.”

They also source some of their jewellery from other designers.

The pair who hold jewellery parties for home, work and fundraising events are busy preparing and stocking up for the Christmas rush.

Their jewellery range is also sold, not in aid of charity, in various Kilmarnock outlets including Touch of Class in Titchfield Street and Kelly’s Bakers in Shortlees.
