A FENWICK lass with a flair for flowers had her stunning work recognised at Westminster Abbey and the Royal Chelsea Flower Show.
Emma Dobson, 15, created a beautiful floral butterfly display which was chosen by the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS) for a display at Westminster Abbey.
The national organisation is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and to celebrate they held a special celebration at the famous London abbey.
Emma’s work was chosen along with several other junior members of NAFAS, who then went on to pick the cream of the crop for a special stand at Chelsea.
Emma’s proud mum Helen, who also has a son, Blair, said: “Emma has been interested in flower arranging since she was a young child.
“She was taught her skills by my mother Senga Loudon who has always been a fine flower arranger.
“Emma seemed to have a natural flair for it, and when NAFAS asked junior members for their contributions she decided just to go for it.”
Emma, a fourth year pupil at Loudoun Academy, went to the NAFAS celebrations in London with her mum, and both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“Unfortunately only the two of us could attend, but it was still as lovely day,” said Helen.
“Emma is very artistic and although she might not go into floristry as a career, I’m sure she’ll do something creative.”
Emma, a former pupil of Fenwick Primary, is a junior member of Club Southwest SAFAS.
