Acrobatics: Kilmarnock gymnasts represent Scotland

GYMNASTS from Kilmarnock Sports Acrobatics Club travelled south to Stoke-on-Trent to compete in the British Sports Acrobatics NDP Championships.

The participating gymnasts are all current Scottish Champions at their grade and were representing both Scotland and the club at this competition.

There were seven gymnasts in total, as well as a large contingent of family and friends heading to England, and everyone involved had an enjoyable, if tiring, weekend.

At Grade 1, the women’s trio of Keren McGill, Zoe Blair and Jennifer Rodger were unlucky to miss out on a medal, but performed their routine almost flawlessly.

The Grade 4 women’s trio of Laura McClymont, Fiona Rainey and Laura Reilly performed exceptionally well over two routines (balance and dynamic) and came home with a bronze medal.

At Grade 2 women’s tumble Laura Reilly qualified for the finals, but was narrowly beaten into fourth place.

Ben Findlay, at Grade 3 men’s tumble, repeated his success of last year and produced three excellent tumble runs which saw him also come home with a bronze medal.

The club congratulates all its gymnasts for their achievements and hard work over the year and would also like to thank all coaches, helpers and parents who have put time and effort into helping the gymnasts reach their potential.
