TWO young motorcycle stars are delighted after landing a much needed sponsorship deal.
Pals Jordan Campbell, of Stewarton, and Kilmarnock’s Robbie Todd, both 16, picked up a cheque for £1000 from Co-op Funeralcare.
The cash injection will help the speedsters, who race under the TAZ team banner, pay for entry fees to races, which can be up to £165 each at a time.
Jordan’s dad Ricky, whose partner is Robbie’s mum Marina, said: “This money will be really be useful for the boys as there are still five rounds of the Scottish Motorcycle Championships to go.
“The boys are doing well. Robbie won best newcomer from the Kirkcaldy and District Motorcycle Club as well as a Scottish Autocycle Union best novice award.
“Meanwhile, Jordan has moved up from 125cc to 650cc and on his first weekend was fifth in two races.
“They are definitely two prospects for the future.”
Ricky would welcome people on board if they would like to get involved in the sport.
“We are always looking for people to give us a hand on race days,” said Ricky.
“It’s a really exciting sport and great fun to be a part of, so if anyone is interested they should come along.
“I would also welcome more sponsorship, as the race fees before anything else are really crippling.
“I’d like to thank McGaw Transport for their continued support. We wouldn’t have been able to compete without them.”
