Kilmarnock Rugby Club youngsters unbeaten as they lift EK Trophy

KILMARNOCK Rugby Club’s P7 team, assisted by a few P6 players, did the whole club proud when they won the East Kilbride tournament at the weekend.

Kilmarnock 3, Cumnock 1

In a really tough game Kilmarnock came out on top with tries by Ryan Gordon, Gregor Paxton and David Smith. Cumnock scorer was in fact Kilmarnock player Bradley Smith who was playing as Cumnock were short.

Kilmarnock 2, East Kilbride Panthers 1

This was the hardest game of the tournament. Killie were one down at half time and bravely fought back to win. Scorers were Ryan Gordon and Angus Kerr.

Kilmarnock 3, East Kilbride Lions 2

Another very close game against East Kilbride. Ryan Gordon got two tries.

Kilmarnock 5, Cambuslang 0

Kilmarnock were well on top in this game, gaining revenge for a defeat suffered last season. Scorers included Ryan Gordon who added another two to his tally.

Kilmarnock 5, Waysiders 3

Kilmarnock again played very well, despite tiring, in their final game of the afternoon. Among the scorers were Ryan Gordon and Gregor Paxton.

A great day was enjoyed by all the boys and coaches. Captain Craig lifted the shield and cup after a well-deserved win, and sparked the celebrations.
