Charity golf day held at Dundonald

LOCAL business Ardgowan Homes, Ballochmyle, near Mauchline, held its first annual Charity Golf day on Tuesday, July 8, at Dundonald Links and raised £12,000 for Ayrshire Cancer Support.

Fifteen teams from all over Ayrshire and the UK enjoyed great weather throughout the event, which was followed by a meal and charity auction.

After-dinner speaker and auctioneer was former football referee Willie Young whose stories of his footballing life had the clubhouse rocking with laughter.

John Beck of Ayrshire Cancer Support said “Everyone involved on the day should be very proud of their efforts and a great many people throughout Ayrshire will benefit from their generosity.

“We are extremley grateful to Ardgowan Homes and all the organisations which supported the event for raising such an amazing amount for us.”
