Football: Hurlford Thistle fire in a dozen past Mossblown in cup game

Hurlford Thistle blew away fellow Premier League side Mossblown to progress to the quarter finals of the Thistle Bar Hurlford Trophy.

On five minutes, Greig Gilroy fired home from the edge of the box and Richie Mullen headed home a Caddis cross for the second goal.

On 18 minutes, Caddis played in Hunter, his shot was blocked but Michael Mullen slammed the rebound into the net.

Gilroy found Caddis who got past the full-back before finding M Mullen to side foot into the corner for number four.

On the half-hour mark, Thistle were five up after the keeper spilled a cross and Quigley took advantage.

Six minutes later, M Mullen played in Richie Mullen who slotted past the advancing keeper to make the score six nil at the break.

Four minutes after the break, R Mullen found M Mullen who floated the ball in for Quigley to score his second and Thistle’s seventh.

Quigley turned provider squaring the ball into the path of Greig Gilroy who made it eight.

Calder was brought down in the box and M Mullen completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.

Goal number 10 came with 16 minutes remaining, Knapp finishing of a three man move.

Thistle went 11-0 up on 82 minutes, Paul Gilroy’s shot was saved but Knapp netted the rebound.

The scoring was completed two minutes from time when Paul Gilroy made it 12-0.
