Kilmarnock FC: Killie Under-20s beat Falkirk 1-0

Kilmarnock Under-20s racked up four wins in a row by beating Falkirk 1-0 in the league at Rugby Park on Tuesday night.

Second half sub David McNeil netted the winner on 78 minutes after some lovely football.

Craig Slater passed to Chris Johnston who beat his man and found Robbie Muirhead who slipped the ball down the line for Ross Davidson to cross and McNeil to finish from six yards.

This was the highlight of a match where Killie looked in control but missed chances.

Forward Rory McKenzie was skillfully finding space but struggled to keep his efforts down on target.

Borja Perez and Lee Johnston also had a couple of efforts saved by Falkirk keeper Graham Bowman.

Killie keeper Anssi Jaakkola wasn’t really tested.

On Monday, Killie face a trip to play bottom club Dundee in the league. They will travel to Galashiels to play Gala Fairydean in the Scottish Youth Cup third round on Sunday, October 21.

Well done to Adam Hodge who scored in Scotland’s Under-16s Victory Shield 2-0 win over Wales at Pittodrie last Friday. Teammate Greg Kiltie also played and Dylan Pooler was among the substitutes.
