KILLIE mascot Nutz the squirrel ran out of steam when he competed in a top mascot race on Sunday.
Nutz – along with Hearts’ Teenie the Tiger, Hibs’ Sunshine the Leith Lynx, Motherwell’s Claret and Amber, Celtic’s Hoopy the Huddle Hound, Dundee United’s Terry the Terror, St Mirren’s Paisley Panda, Rangers’ Broxi Bear and Champion, the official Clydesdale Bank Premier League mascot – were the 11 mascots taking part.
Sunday’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League Mascot Race 2009 formed part of Heart of Midlothian FC’s family race day, run in partnership with Musselburgh Racecourse.
And the honours went this year to the Hearts mascot who won £500 for a charity of his choice, which on this occasion will be split between the club’s education and community trust and Erskine.
