Steve Lovell rumours shot down by Killie

OUT-of-contract striker Steve Lovell has not been in discussions with Kilmarnock this week.

But chairman Michael Johnston, who flew back from Italy on Monday with crocked Allan Russell, did say the ex-Dons hitman was someone he and gaffer Jim Jefferies had discussed.

Quashing rumours Lovell had been at Rugby Park, the chairman said on Tuesday: “I’ve just left Rugby Park and I’ve not seen Steve Lovell. There is nothing concrete to report on that front.

“A lot of names have been mentioned, probably 10 or 15, and he is one of them. He is someone we could be interested in, but no discussions have taken place.”
