Kilmarnock Rugby Club camp to be set up

A RUGBY camp is to be held at Kilmarnock in association with Scottish Rugby, East Ayrshire Council and the rugby club itself.

The camp is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible in an effort to keep children active over the long summer holidays.

Catering for all ages and skill levels, and open to both boys and girls, the camp will have top quality Scottish Rugby coaches and development officers to ensure that children are in a safe, fun environment.

Scottish Rugby’s head of community rugby, Colin Thomson, said: “Scottish Rugby has worked hard over the last two years, in partnership with clubs and local authorities, to establish a team of development officers to provide rugby opportunities for all in communities throughout Scotland.

“It is good to see that clubs and local authorities are now in a position to offer such an extensive rugby summer camp programme as part of these efforts to grow the game.”

The camp at Kilmarnock Rugby Club takes place on Tuesday, July 29, to Friday, July 31, from 11am to 2pm each day. It is aimed at kids from primary four to S6.
