EAST Ayrshire Council staff are celebrating winning the Inter Authority Bowls Competition for the first time in five years. They beat South Lanarkshire 12-0 in the derby at Glaisnock Valley Bowling Club in Netherthird.
The fun tournament, set up by past provost Jimmy Boyd in 1997, is played annually by councillors and staff from the two councils. EAC officer Bernie Gribben organised this year’s competition.
Provost Stephanie Young said: “It was a great pleasure to relieve South Lanarkshire of the magnificent trophy after a long four years.”
