Bowling: Stewarton BC hold 150th anniversary tournament

STEWARTON Bowling Club held a special 150th anniversary match inviting fellow Scottish clubs marking the same milestone.

Rinks from Helensburgh BC, Maryhill BC, Rutherglen BC and Aberfeldy BC took part.

After a long day’s bowling, the beaten semi-finalists were Stewarton’s John Mair, Vince Parvin, Tom Patrick and Jimmy Gibson and the rink from Aberfeldy.

Runners-up were Rutherglen, while Maryhill were the winners, lifting the Grand Rose Bowl.

The club held a special anniver- sary dinner with provost Stephanie Young presenting the prizes to the winning rinks.
