McPhun charity triples evening at Fenwick Bowling Club

THE Fred McPhun charity triples evening took place at Fenwick Bowling Club on Saturday, July 12.

A good night’s bowling was enjoyed by those taking part. The money from the game, plus raffle money and donations came to the sum of £422.28 and this was divided between Diabetes and Cancer Research, Morag's chosen charities.

Morag drew the raffle and also donated and presented the prizes and quaich to the winners who were Jack Hope, Margaret Shanks and Elsie Notman.

The runners-up received baskets of fruit, donated by Jimmy and Margaret Shanks and were Nan Morton, Jack Wells and Marilyn Morton. Morag wishes to thank everyone who contributed in any way to this excellent result.

The Garden Club will hold the annual flower and produce show in the church hall on Thursday, August 21, at 7.30pm.

The classes are: Vegetables; three tomatoes; green vegetables; root vegetables.

Flowers: fresh flower arrangement; a bunch of garden flowers; a single bloom. Pot plants: flowering pot plant; foliage pot plant. General: a garden ornament.

The Isabel Bowes Trophy will be awarded to the person gaining the most points over all classes and a small prize will be presented to the first, second and third winners in each category.
