Glenfield Bowling Club hold competition

GLENFIELD Bowling Club’s mixed nominated rinks competition was won by Tony McCluskey (skip), Ena Bell, Bobby Cook and Margaret Cook in a close final against runners-up Hugh Lynch (skip) Jeanette Lynch, Willie Newlands and Irene Newlands.

Many thanks to The Burns Mall for sponsorship of the competition, which turned out to be an excellent day’s bowling that was enjoyed by all.

Glenfield Bowling Club home match against Kilmaurs Bowling Club was a win for the home team, and another win at home against Portland Bowling Club saw the Portland Trophy staying at Glenfield BC. The Kay Park Tavern mixed triples competition is on Saturday, August 2, and teams should be entered on the sheet in the clubhouse as soon as possible. The seniors’ Girvan trip is on Wednesday, August 6.

West Netherton Bowling Club. On Saturday, July 26, the gents section will host their sponsored invitation rinks competition commencing at 10am prompt. The ladies section will have a home fixture on Thursday, July 24, against Springhill BC ladies at 2.30pm.

The Air Cadets, who meet at Mews Lane behind Dundonald Road on Monday and Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, are keen like to hear from more girls with an interest in joining.
