KILMARNOCK Harriers Susan Beattie won a bronze medal as the third fastest female in the Girvan half marathon on Sunday.
She clocked 1.47.41 in the race which doubled up as the Ayrshire Half Marathon Championships this year.
David Lowdon also ran well, putting behind him his recent efforts over the London and Edinburgh marathons, in a time of 1.37.32 for a very decent 26th place.
THIS Monday, Irvine Athletics Club will host their popular five-mile road race which is in the Kilmarnock Senior Summer Championships.
Entries will be taken at the Marress Sports Centre. The fast and flat course is a great race to bridge the gap between 5k and 10k.
Current standings in the Kilmarnock championships are: Ladies: 1 Rosemary McMillan, 2 Natalie Boyce, 3 Jacqueline Neil. Mens: 1 Iain Connell, 2 Scott Martin, 3 Gerry Dodds.
THE club are making a second, and possibly final, order for 125th commemorative vests. Any Harrier wishing a 125 vest should order one within the next week or two at training at the AAA on Tuesday or Thursday night.
THE 125th Anniversary Kilmarnock Harriers Gala Ball is building up to being a top sell-out night. Anyone still to pay for, or wanting to order, tickets, should do so as soon as possible.
