RUBY’S Ayrshire Hospice 5K and family fun day will take place on Sunday, June 14, at Dean Castle Country Park.
Ruby’s Ayrshire Hospice Run started when Ruby Young, a Kilmarnock Harrier, died from cancer.
Every year, East Ayrshire Council’s leisure development, in conjunction with the Kilmarnock Harriers, run this event to raise money for the Ayrshire Hospice with every penny going to this charity.
Last year over 2000 runners and walkers took part in this family day out and the event raised over £5000 for the Ayrshire Hospice.
The ladies 5K race starts at 11am and the cost is £10 or free if the minimum £10 sponsorship is raised.
There are no administration fees.
The men’s 5K race starts at 11.30am and the cost £10 or free if minimum £10 sponsorship is raised.
There is also a one mile walk which starts at 1pm.
If you prefer you can take a gentle stroll around the park and raise money for a good cause.
The cost is £2 per child, £3 per adult and £5 for a family of four.
The family fun day starts at 11am, with a range of activities including face painting, bouncy castles and inflatables for under eights as well as a climbing wall, sports activities, live entertainment and much more.
Charges will apply for some activities, but all proceeds will go to the Ayrshire Hospice.
A raffle will also take place at 3.30pm with some great prizes on offer.
Tickets will cost 50p each.
