Big defender Momo Sissoko could be set to rejoin Killie.
The 24-year-old centre-back is training with the squad after being released by Italian Serie A club Udinese.
Frenchman Sissoko played in a bounce game against Dunfermline on Tuesday.
Killie boss Kenny Shiels said: “We have got Sissoko training with us. We are looking at him as he is a free agent.”
Sissoko, who has had two loan spells with Killie, was a close season target of Shiels.
James Fowler looks “very doubtful” for Saturday’s game against league leaders Celtic, says the gaffer. The stalwart injured his calf muscle in the 2-1 defeat away to St Johnstone last Saturday where he scored a late goal.
Shiels said: “It is a major loss to the midfield especially with Danny Raachi also out injured witha big game to prepare for.”
He described Celtic’s performance against giants Barcelona on Tuesday as “superb”.
Striker Paul Heffernan and keeper Cammy Bell are fit for the trip to Glasgow. Kick-off is 3pm.
All Killie fans are invited to put their questions to gaffer Shiels and assistant boss Jimmy Nicholl next Thursday (November 1). The ‘Meet the Manager’ event is at the Park Hotel’s Caprington Suite. It’s 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The evening including prize quiz will be hosted by TV football pundit Rob McLean.
Killie’s away game against Dundee United has been switched to a Friday (November 16). Kick-off is 7.45pm.
