WEIGHTLIFTER Peter Kirkbride will compete in his first Olympics this Saturday.
The Hurlford strongman will lift in the 94kg class at London’s ExCel Centre.
Peter, 24, will be part of group B competition which starts at 3.30pm.
The BBC will show footage of the competition, via the red button.
Peter, a silver Commonwealth medallist and British champion, is loving being part of the Games mixing with sporting stars like cycling hero Chris Hoy.
Speaking about taking part in the Olympics opening ceremony, Peter said: “It was amazing in the stadium, words can’t describe how great it was.”
Peter is keeping his fans updated on life as an Olympic athlete on his Twitter page.
