Tennis: Ladies courting the top flight

KILMARNOCK Tennis Club’s ladies first team have secured promotion to the top league in Ayrshire.
Kilmarnock ladies, who finished second top of division two,  beat Coylton, who were second bottom of division one, in a close-fought play-off.
The achievement was a great squad effort with 12 players filling the six spots on the team over the course of the season.
Making up the team were Morna Longmuir, Tamsin Johnstone, Michele Johnstone, Joanne Miller, Patsy O’Neill, Olive Higgins, captain Lynsey O’Connor, Maire Hendry, Anne Elsey, Helen Young, Shona Jack and Shirley Shaw.
