A YOUNG ice skater has just returned from her first major competition with a silver medal.
Mikayla Stalker, 11, was placed second in the Deeside Open in Wales in the level one over 10s category.
The Nether Robertland Primary pupil, who has been skating for three years, is a member of the Galleon Figure Skating Club.
Coach Heather Bingham is delighted with her pupil’s success.
“This is the first time Mikayla has competed at this level and it was a great achievement to be placed second as the standard is so high,” said Heather.
Next up for Mikayla, who stays just outside Kilmaurs, is the Ayr Open in August.
