Three more sign on for Darvel Juniors

DARVEL’S new manager George Grierson is continuing to build up his team with another three key signings.

The move follows hard on the heels of landing Ayrshire football stalwart, experienced striker Davie Kirkland, who signed last month.

The new trio to go to Recreation Park are John Johnston, 25, a defender, who formerly played with Carrick Amateurs. Johnston was signed just after playing for the Ayrshire amateur select side at Hampden.

Two midfielders, Craig Parker and Stevie O’Connor, have also signed on the dotted line.

Parker, who has played for Hurlford, Knockentiber and Newmilns amateur sides, is an attacking midfielder, while O’Connor, who played for Hurlford Thistle and junior side Ardeer, plays on the wing.

The gaffer said: “The team is shaping up nicely, and the signs are looking good for the future.”
