DARVEL Juniors are gearing up for the start of the season with a number of pre-season friendlies.
The games got under way on Saturday with a home fixture against Larkhall Thistle.
Darvel lost 2-1, but assistant gaffer Gary Hamilton was pleased with the performance.
He said: “There were eight new faces playing in this game, and it gave all the players a bit of match practice and broke up the monotony of just training all the time.”
This Saturday the Recreation Park side have a home tie against Largs, followed by Glenafton on Wednesday and Benburb the following Saturday.
Gary Hamilton added: “These games will hopefully put us in a good position for the start of the league cup campaign.”
