RockNess lifts another festival award

RockNess

THE unusually warm temperatures for this time of year that we have recently experienced have prompted many of us to start planning our summer activities and music festivals will figure prominently on a lot of people’s to-do lists.
Scots are renowned for our humour, and as we say – we know it’s summer here when the rain gets warmer.
However the wet weather doesn’t tend to stop us enjoying ourselves and come rain or shine, in a few months time tens of thousands of us will head to festivals up and down the country and brave the elements under canvas – or nylon, as most tents are made of these days.
The banks of Loch Ness will once again resonate to the sounds of a host of acts as RockNess takes place over the weekend of  Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 10.
This year’s festival will feature the likes of Biffy Clyro, Mumford & Sons, The View, Ed Sheeran, Justice and Deadmau5.
The festival has been building an excellent reputation since its inception in 2006 and recently scooped the NME’s “Best Small Festival Award” for the second year running.
It’s the latest major accolade for RockNess having also previously won the headline “Line up of the Year” at the prestigious UK Festival Awards.
Festival Director Jim King commented: “For those who have been to the festival before thank you so much for your support and please now spread the word.
“There’s something going on in the Highlands and we want you to come to our party; let’s wake the monster.”
Three-day weekend camping tickets cost £159, more information can be found at www.rockness.co.uk
