Dougie MacLean heads to the Palace Theatre

ONE of Scotland’s best-loved musicians plays Kilmarnock’s Palace Theatre this weekend.

Dougie MacLean will be performing solo at the Saturday night gig and will play songs from his amazing back catalogue.

Dougie is a favourite with audiences around the globe and this year has performed at the world famous Woodford Festival in Australia and at venues in the US and Canada as well as in front of over 40,000 football fans at Hampden Park during the Scotland v Iceland international.

The Palace show of course will be much more intimate.

Dougie’s Caledonia, one of Scotland’s most loved contemporary songs, has been covered by a host of artists, including Paolo Nutini and Amy MacDonald, and has become an international anthem in homage to his homeland. It’s currently being used by Homecoming Scotland in its advertising.

If you want to see the man live onstage, there are still tickets – £16 or £14 concessions – left for the Palace show. Ring the box office on 01563 554900.
