TEENAGER Nicolle Phillips is ‘popping’ up on telly in an advert for Irn-Bru.
The 17-year-old is singing and dancing in the advert for Scotland’s other national drink, which was aired this week.
Nicolle, of Kilmarnock, was chosen to star in the 60-second advert – a spoof of the hit American movie High School Musical.
It was the first time Nicolle, who has danced from the age of two, has been on TV.
“I’m really happy about being in the advert because it is so funny,” said Nicolle, who attends Jam Street School of Dance in the town’s New Farm Loch Community Centre.
“I can be seen at the end of the advert when there is a shot of everyone.”
She added: “The dance moves were not difficult, just fast. It was like cheery, theatre show work.”
Nicolle, who has previously performed in pantomimes and shows, was spotted by TV producers for her dancing talent.
“It was a shock to be chosen for the advert,” said Nicolle. “I think was the only person in it who didn’t come from Glasgow or Edinburgh.
“I made a lot of new friends while we spent two days filming the advert up at Govan High School.”
The TV producers liked Nicolle’s fashion style so much that she was asked to wear her own clothes for the advert.
Nicolle, who loves the fizzy orange drink, was given loads of Irn-Bru freebies for appearing in the advert.
She says her parents Kevin and Barbara, 10-year-old brother Adam and friends were all excited to see her on TV this week
The fifth-year-pupil at James Hamilton Academy would like to do some more TV work in the future.
Nicolle, who has a passion for theatre work, hopes to earn a place at a dance academy after leaving school.
