Wrong site for sports centre

CLEARLY communication is well down the agenda for Councillor John MacKay from Stewarton.

Having invited Mr MacKay to my home, a few metres from the proposed £4.3m sports hall in Strandhead park, to discuss any impact on the area he assured me that I would be kept informed regarding plans.

I was horrified to read in the Standard (September 18) that a decision had been made.

The siting of this facility with floodlit pitches, increased traffic etc will have a huge impact on local residents and I urge those surrounding the park to make their feelings known.

I’m sure there are many other areas in the town where this type of facility would be welcomed and where impact on the local area would be minimised.
