Labour’s lost public support

IT’S time for Des and Gordon Brown to shut up shop.

The results from the Euro elections which showed that throughout East Ayrshire the SNP had received the support of 35 per cent of voters as against 27 per cent for Labour demonstrates that Des Browne and Labour have lost the confidence of the voters in Kilmarnock and Loudoun.

If Des Browne has any real political courage he should pressurise Gordon Brown to call a general election at the earliest possible moment.

At a critical time for our economy we don’t want Labour to slash public services or to cripple SNP plans for major investment in schools and hospitals.

What we want is for Labour to state now that they will abandon plans to spend billions to upgrade Trident and bring in ID cards.

Every voter who went to the polls last Thursday knows that it was only the SNP who cared enough to campaign for their support.

Labour, Tory, LibDems etc just could not be bothered.

– George Leslie, prospective Westminster SNP candidate.
