Jun 5 2009 Kilmarnock Standard
I NOTICED that in the current Kilmarnock Standard there was an article regarding the club’s takeover of the Young Killie.
You also mentioned that the whole situation has revolved around the resignation of five committee members.
Well, I am the individual who resigned before a vote of no confidence was brought.
I am extremely upset at the outcome. I fear that many parents are blaming me for the situation as they are only hearing the side brought forward by the existing committee members.
I would just like to explain to all parents and indeed the public, that my intention was not to ruin the reputation of a group which has been running successfully for ten years, merely to highlight that on the date which my resignation took place, I felt hurt and used by individuals I thought up until now were friends.
I was accused of not pulling my weight when in fact my downfall was taking too much on. I was forced out of doing something I loved, coaching, even although I did it voluntarily and what I believed to the best of my ability.
I just do not want to be judged on the accusations made against me by individuals who decided that a vote of no confidence was justified despite no prior warning from anyone that I was not pulling my weight.
Kilmarnock Football Club is only trying to do what is best for the organisation as a whole. Indeed, if anything, it will only improve what already was and still is an amazing organisation of people dedicated to the coaching of young children and the supporting of Kilmarnock Football Club.
A Walley, Kilmarnock.
