Girl (12) charged with grand theft auto after stealing dad's car

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl who stole her father's car has been charged with grand theft auto.

Police from Plantation, Florida -at her dad's request- arrested the youngster on Monday night after she was seen driving with the headlights switched off.

After refusing to stop and avoiding several officers, she eventually crashed the yellow Nissan into police car.

No one was hurt but a police spokesman said that her father is pressing charges because it is the second time she has attempted car theft.
