Two arrested over £3.5m heroin haul

Heroin with a street value of £3.5 million has been seized in a police raid on two homes.

A man and woman were arrested during the operation in Glasgow on Wednesday afternoon, which also uncovered £175,000 worth of cannabis.

Officers from Strathclyde Police discovered the heroin haul during a search of homes in Shawhill Road, Pollokshaws, and Mavisbank Gardens, near Kinning Park.

The cannabis was found at a unit on an industrial estate in Lloyd Street, Rutherglen.

A 26-year-old man and a woman aged 28 will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later in connection with the drugs find.
