ScotRail raises prices by almost 4%

Rail fares in Scotland will rise by almost 4% from the start of next year.

Train operator ScotRail said its train tickets will cost an extra 3.9% from January.

"We have worked hard to keep the increase down to a level that continues to offer value for money," said a spokesman.

"At the same time our approach enables us to continue to invest in improvements including more and faster services and better facilities at stations and on trains."
