A man's body has been found in a block of city flats.
Police said the death of the man, thought to be in his 30s, is suspicious.
Officers were called to Hawkhill Close in Edinburgh at 8.15pm on Tuesday where the body was found in a flat on the sixth floor.
The building is now cordoned off until forensic work is done.
The body is still to be identified, Lothian and Borders Police said.
Superintendent Matt Richards said: "Officers will be carrying out high-visibility patrols in the local area in the coming days in order to provide reassurance to local people. However, there is not believed to be any risk to the public at large.
"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Hawkhill Close yesterday evening, who saw or heard anything suspicious, to contact police as a matter of urgency.
Police said they are doing door-to-door inquiries in the area and will be looking at CCTV footage for clues.
