Body of missing man found in river

The body of a man missing for almost six weeks has been pulled from a river.

Craig McCaffrey, 24, went missing after a night out with friends in Eglinton Street, Glasgow, on October 26.

He was last seen wearing a fancy dress costume and heading in the direction of Bridge Street after leaving a Halloween party at the O2 Academy.

After his disappearance police searched the local area, made door-to-door inquiries and checked CCTV footage but found no trace of the missing man.

Mr McCaffrey's body was recovered from the river near the Science Centre on Monday morning, Strathclyde Police said.

His relatives are aware of the discovery and a report is being sent to the procurator fiscal.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious, following the results of a post-mortem examination.
