Woman and teenager killed in crash

An investigation is continuing into a crash which killed a woman and a teenager near a supermarket .

The two women, aged 18 and 37, were on the B981 in Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy, Fife, when they were hit by a Land Rover at 6.30pm on Tuesday night.

They were both fatally injured.

The male driver of the 4x4 involved in the collision near the town's Asda superstore was not hurt.

Fife Constabulary said the road was closed overnight while the vehicle was recovered and a crash investigation carried out. It has since reopened.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen the Land Rover or the two women in the moments before the crash.

The women will not be named until their families have been made aware.
