A teenager who was killed when she and another woman were knocked down by a car near a supermarket has been described as a "bubbly, caring and beautiful girl".
Abby Hucknall, 18, and Jane MacDonald, 37, both from Kirkcaldy, Fife, were on the B981 Dunnikier Way road, close to the town's Asda superstore, when they were hit by a Land Rover at about 6.30pm on Tuesday.
They were both fatally injured.
In a statement released through Fife Constabulary, Miss Hucknall's family said: "Abby's family are devastated by this tragic loss.
"She was a very bubbly, caring and beautiful girl, a much-loved daughter, sister and granddaughter who will be sorely missed by all who knew her."
The male driver of the 4x4 involved in the collision was not hurt.
Police said the road was closed overnight while the vehicle was recovered and a crash investigation carried out. It has since reopened.
Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen the Land Rover or the two women in the moments before the crash.
Inquiries are continuing in the area and police have asked anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
