Arrest after man dies in hospital

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man at the weekend, police said.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Annathill Gardens, Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, at around 7.40pm on Sunday and found Alistair Milroy seriously injured.

Mr Milroy, 42, was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but died a short time later. His relatives have been informed, a Strathclyde Police spokesman said.

A 47-year-old man arrested over the death is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
