Independence focus of Clegg talks

First Minister Alex Salmond will try to reinforce his case for devolving more powers to Scotland during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

The SNP is seeking amendments to the Scotland Bill to accommodate six key demands: devolution of corporation tax; devolution of the Crown Estate Commission; more borrowing powers; a greater share of excise duty; a role at Europe's Council of Ministers; and a Scottish digital TV channel.

However, Secretary of State for Scotland Michael Moore said this week that the UK Government remains "unconvinced" by the SNP's argument so far and has called for more detail.
