Teaching unions in Parliament rally

Teaching unions are to hold a rally outside the Scottish Parliament demanding protection for jobs and education funding.

The demonstration has been arranged by the University and College Union (UCU) Scotland and the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), supported by the National Union of Students (NUS).

They will call on the government to meet a funding gap in Scottish higher education and for university managers to have a moratorium on cuts while the new funding situation is addressed.
