Kilmarnock Portland kids to train at David Beckham Academy

KILMARNOCK Portland FC age 13s have won the chance to train at the David Beckham Academy in London.

The boys won this prestigious award by qualifying as Fair Play winners in their group at the Easter Festival of Football at Ayr.

The boys will attend the academy on Saturday, August 23, for a five-hour coaching session.

The boys received participation awards from ex-Rangers and Holland player Arthur Numan, who took time out to autograph a Rangers and Holland top.

The club is going to auction one of the autographed strips to offset costs of the trip to London.

Interested parties are asked to phone club chairman Bill Powell on 07865 239030 by Friday, August 15.

Kilmarnock Portland officials also assist in organising the Easter festival at Skegness, the largest football tournament in Britain.

An autographed Man United photo, donated by Reds’ legend Bryan Robson, is also up for auction .
