Danger driver caused crash on Kilmaurs to Knockentiber road

A DRIVER who admitted causing an accident which left a woman motorist badly injured was jailed for 16 months at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

Dean Barclay, 22 – an inmate of Kilmarnock Prison – was also banned from the road for six years after he pleaded guilty to driving dangerously on the B751 Kilmaurs-Knockentiber road in March.

The court heard that he crashed into the other car after crossing solid white lines to overtake another vehicle.

Barclay also admitted charges of driving while disqualified and without insurance.
