Singing sensation Marie Osmond had a special tray of Killie pies hand delivered to her after a stunning Rugby Park display.
The American legend belted out her hit Paper Roses in the Park Hotel’s Caprington Suite in front of 400 fans last Friday afternoon.
And after tweeting about the famous Killie Pie, a dozen were sent over from makers Brownings Bakers for her to try out.
But in the midst of all the excitement over her performance, the pies were left behind.
So Killie fan Robert Morton – the mastermind behind Marie’s big Kilmarnock gig - made sure they got to her at her gig in Glasgow that night.
He revealed: “John Gall of Brownings had sent the tray of pies over but somehow she left them behind.
“So I drove them up to the SECC myself and found one of her crew.
“I explained what had happened and they said they would pass them on. I’m not definitely sure if she got them but I did my best to get them to her!”
Robert’s last-minute dash to Glasgow came at the end of what he described as a “dream day”.
He first met the member of the Osmond clan after a gig in Las Vegas in 2009 where he told her Kilmarnock fans sing her 1973 hit, Paper Roses.
He joked he’d like to get her to Rugby Park to sing it - and kept in touch with her management.
When her UK tour included the Glasgow gig on Friday, Robert was able to secure her attendance.
She spent more than the planned hour at the ground and even managed to get onto the pitch.
Robert said: “She really was great. It’s incredible that she’s been here. After she finished at the hotel, her assistants were telling her she had to go but she insisted on getting into the stadium.
“She had a lot of time for everyone and is gorgeous - both on the inside and outside.”
Marie sang Paper Roses for the crowd and then signed autographs and strips.
She got a cuddle from Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels and had plenty of time to speak to fans.
Robert said: “I’d like to thank Marie for coming and the club for making it happen. It was a great day and left a good feeling around the club.”
Marie said she’s been a Killie fan ever since hearing about the link, and even left her lipstick mark on the League Cup with a kiss.
After the show she was back on twitter congratulating the team on their win in Saturday’s game against Inverness.
She said: “Someone please keep me up on the Score with @officialkillie. I’m backstage and can’t get information.”
And when she was told they won 2-0, the star said: “Congrats @officialkillie on your win. Love, your paper roses girl.”
