A CATWALK show celebrating the courage of cancer survivors has raised a record sum for charity.
Eight women and two men who have battled with cancer became models for a night at the Crystal Charity Catwalk and Ball held at Kilmarnock’s Park Hotel.
More than 280 guests cheered as the models strutted their stuff at the Las Vegas themed night helping to raise £7200 for the Lymphoma Association and Crosshouse Hospital’s haematology ward.
The money was made through corporate sponsorship as well as an auction, a casino and a raffle on the night.
The event has raised more than £10,000 in total for cancer charities in the previous three years.
Hairdresser Amanda Gilmour, of Francis Hair and Beauty Salon in Galston’s Bridge Street, organises the annual glitzy fundraiser.
Amanda said: “It was intended that this was to be the final ball but after the amazing response and many requests, next year’s is already in the planning.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the models, the attendees and all the supporters of the ball for making it a record breaking night.”
