A MAN who defrauded businesses by posing as their employees has been jailed for six months.
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard that Jamie Orr, 20, twice ripped off Braehead Foods Ltd, at Kilmarnock’s Moorfield Industrial Estate.
Between December 1 and January 31 this year he phoned the firm on two occasions pretending to be different named employees and induced them to pay sums of £126.03 and £200.55 into his bank account.
Another target was Hurlford-based Eurofriction. Orr wrote to them pretending to be one of their workers with the result that £1128.25 was paid into his account.
Orr, of Cairns Terrace, Kilmarnock, pleaded guilty to obtaining money by fraud.
He also admitted a separate charge of committing a breach of the peace at his home in March by shouting, swearing, repeatedly banging on doors and windows and demanding entry.
