TRIPLETS Patrick, Kane and Ally McLean had a day to remember when they were Killie mascots on Saturday.
The football-daft trio, who all play for Bellfield Royals, met their favourite players, took part in a warm-up with their heroes and managed to see the Setanta TV crews in action.
All this before the game itself, which the boisterous nine-year-olds enjoyed with their mum Maggie and dad Neil, and other family members.
Lifelong Killie fan Maggie said: “The boys had an absolutely brilliant time, they enjoyed every minute. It’s just a shame the boys didn’t bring luck to the team in terms of the result.”
The boys’ big day started with a visit to the players’ lounge where they bumped into Killie favourite Frazer Wright.
They then saw David Fernandez being interviewed on Setanta before they headed out of the tunnel and onto the hallowed Rugby Park turf for a warm up.
Maggie, of Bellfield, said: “The club couldn’t have done enough for the boys. Every step of the way was perfect.
“All the players signed their programmes and chatted to them and the club’s volunteer kitman Martin Sherry, who is our neighbour, also turned up with a ball.
“The boys also got to muck about with Nutz, who was burling them around and having great fun with them.
“It was all really exciting for the boys, a lot of their friends and even their school teacher was in the crowd and shouting out to them. It was a great day.”
The triplets were born on February 29, 2000, and have had only two official birthdays since they were born.
