AWARD-WINNING Stewarton Drama Group are hard at work rehearsing for the next product, ‘Laughter, Love and Tears’, to be staged at the new Stewarton area centre next weekend.
The show comprises three short plays exploring the complexities of love and its different aspects.
The evening kicks off with ‘Resting Place’, by David Campton, about two people who have spent a lifetime together, but, we are left wondering – will they ever be able to rest?
The play features performances from Mairi-Claire Traynor and David Robertson.
Next on stage is ‘Interior Designs’, by Jimmie Chinn, and featuring Jim Goldie, Linda Wilson, Morag Smith and Yvonne Kavanagh.
The night closes with a performance of ‘What’s for Pudding?’, a fast-moving comedy by David Tristram, featuring a cast of Caren McLean, David Robertson, Marion Lamont, Craig McLaughlan and Johnnie McPherson.
All three plays are directed by Nancy McPherson who also directed the group’s UK championship-winning play ‘One Good Beating’ which played to packed houses in Stewarton last month.
The evening’s entertainment will include two 15-minute intervals, with a licensed bar.
Tickets for the show – next Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm – are priced £6 each and are on sale at the library in the Stewarton Area Centre and also at Candy Chace in the town’s High Street. Alternatively, tickets can be reserved by e-mailing stewartondramagroup@hotmail.co.uk
