A BUSINESSMAN is getting well and truly ‘board’ with the continual theft of his advertising hoardings.
Stephen McKinlay has had nine ‘sandwich’ boards stolen or vandalised since he set up his takeaway business seven months ago.
And after the latest theft on Wednesday night, Stephen has informed the police.
Stephen said: “I set up Tickle Your Tastebuds in Glasgow Road last July and we are getting on all right, trying to get through this difficult period.
“Business is good, and I have six people working here, but what we don’t need is these boards going astray all the time.
“They cost £180 each, so it is an expense we can do without.”
This latest theft saw the culprit actually take away the inside the hoarding, leaving behind the frame.
Said Stephen: “They were meticulously taken apart, it wasn’t vandalised.
“I’m now of the opinion that this is mischief-making.
“These boards are of no use to anyone else but me.
“They have all our details on them and couldn’t really be used for anything.
“I’m beginning to think I’m a victim of some sort of dirty tricks campaign.
“The whole thing is a bit of a mystery, but it is in the hands of the police now.”
